Sharon Stone smacks down Lupus with her handbags

Celebrity smackdown takes on a whole new meaning. Actress Sharon Stone has auctioned off 100 of her own handbags to raise cash for Lupus research.
Stone became proactive in helping to find a cure for the auto-immune disease when her sister Kelly was diagnosed with Lupus last year, and participated in a celebrity studded auction in Beverly Hills this last Thursday.
Selling off designer handbags donated by fellow celebrities like Julia Roberts and Elizabeth Taylor, Stone opened up her own closets and tossed out the "baggage."
She says, "How many bags do you really need? We really need a cure for Lupus but I don't really need very many handbags."
