That doesn't make him wrong, Moby.
Celebrities...they are just like you think they are.
You should have kept you typing to yourself. It does make him wrong because there was no faking and every statement Rush made about Fox, including accusations of not taking his meds and only supporting Dems., were all false. These are things said by a man going on a euphoric rant without actually htinking aobut what he is saying or even researching it for that matter. The whole point of this is that a person has a right to their opinion, but one also has the responsibility to make sure that opinion checks out with the facts surrounding that opinion. Otherwise your opinion is ignorant and your mouth is shooting blanks.
and one more note. Any other radio host showing that amount of poor taste would be fired. He will not be. Why? Because he's a celebrity.
yeah Fox gave up a career as an actor to fake parkinsons so Dems could get stem cell research votes
I think Rush owns his own syndication... he's not going to fire himself. Stations can drop him if they want, want to lose money. Get over the accusations and get to the real facts: The bill would make it constitutionally protected to clone people.
Oh, and conservitives don't have a problem with stem-cell research, only FEDERAL GRANTS to fetus stem-cell research.
Hippies.
Limbaugh's legacy will be dismal. He will be known as a hollow..hapless..husk of a human.
Moby needs to rethink his viotle caustic comments towards ALL Republicans. I am a bleeding heart Republican, only that due to being a moral conservative albeit not as much fiscal. The views of Rush do not always represent the LOT of us. Thank you.
And it was real mature for the author to point out the addition Rush had. So realative to the story. I'm thinking Moby may have had some stronger stuff than pain-killers...
I really liked Moby's music too. Glad I haven't bought any of his CDs though.
Hippies.
duchesszone, there are no moral conservatives anymore, just ones who at this point are WILFULLY ignorant about the twisted, corrupt, lying, and sick nature of conservatism.
Fox was in fact faking since he did infact admit to katie kurac on cbs morning show that he had in fact over medicated himself that day. In fact on many occasions he has done so to make the symptoms much worse than what they are on a normal medication day!! How is it he was able to controll himself so well in his boston legal performance!! It is in fact faking if you choose to take to much medication to change your symptons!!
How can you claim to be a moral conservative when such amoral creatures as Rush mouth off and you do nothing? If Republicans were really moral, they would be upset over Rush. Instead we hear over and over how moral the Republicans are, while they shelter people like Rush, Falwell, Corker, etc. I guess the New Morality of Republlicanism is the morality of the brainless following the rantings and fear-mongering of the Republican leadership.
Fox is trying to turn sympathy for his plight into votes for Democrats. Most people, including Republicans, would like to see medical science advance and cure diseases such as Parkinsons. It is immoral and evil to suggest otherwise. It is wrong to state that only Democrats are interested in helping people, only Democrats care about finding a cure. The truth is we must be cautious with what we sacrifice to achieve those advances. Rush illustrated a valid concern with the Fox ad. He was not demeaning those who suffer from Parkisons or any other disease. He was exposing a subtle manipulation designed to attract votes. That is what that ad was about. It was not about research or cures. It was about votes.
Not to mention the ad is simply not true!! Democrat Claire McCaskell voted against embryonic stem-cell research, while R-Mo Jim Talent voted for it.. Sorry mike you have been used and lied to by the dems.
Votes - that's exactly right. Votes for people who support stem cell research so that a variety of illnesses - including, not coincidentally, the one that Fox has - might one day be cured. It's like saying that an advertisement featuring starving African children and requesting donations for an organization that assists them is manipulating people into donating money. If by 'manipulation' one means that they attempt to get people to solve the problem they display, well, brilliant. Thanks for the insight Rush, you cynical tool.
Can you imagine that anyone has taken seriously the rantings of a man called Moby? That's what Andrew Dice Clay named his pecker. Moby.
At any rate, according to the political left, there is no such thing as a 'former' addict of anything; so I sense a bit of intolerance here.
Second, I too thought MF might have purposely been off his medicine for the commercial, for the purpose of eliciting either drama or sympathy. There is a passage in his book about him doing exactly that, for public testimony and the sort.
Third, almost everybody has missed MF's unstated message 'Kill the fetuses, so that I may live!'
Fourth, did you see the YouTube parody of MF? He's got his pill bottle in his hand, and he's trying to take the pills as he speaks, but because of his flailing about, he can't get them in his mouth. They're flying all over the place. It IS funny. Sometimes we cope with tragedy by using comedy.
Last, re: all right wing Republicans are evil, that is just so stupid, even for the inner city. What about the old saw that 'all black people like watermelon and chicken?' Isn't this statement in that exact vein?
In fact, I always thought that Democrats, who want to confiscate (i.e., steal) wealth and spend it on things like studying the farting of cows, who call people names, and feign to know people's motivations, I thought they were the ones who are evil. Not all of them, just the money-confiscating, name-calling, mind-reading ones.
Do you think that more people would be offended by this view or less? I know the answer - Mo' be.
If Republicans want a cure, why make it next to impossible to do stem cell research? Federal funding is important because the research is so expensive. The Fed subsidized the transcontinental RR over 100 years ago, because it was too expensive for private companies to do it alone. The Fed has spent a lot of money over the years for the public interest. As for Rush having a valid point about Fox--What? ONLY people without diseases can support candidates who promise to release federal funding to help find a cure? Do people with diseases lose their right to speak up? IF Fox had been a teacher, computer programmer, etc--anything BUT an actor--would Rush have made the same accusation?
Maybe Rush Managed to buy Michael's medication on the Black Market,That is why he is certain that Michael had not taken his Medication;
'Can you imagine that anyone has taken seriously the rantings of a man called Moby? That's what Andrew Dice Clay named his pecker. Moby.'---I suppose the words 'Call me Ishmael' mean nothing to you....
'At any rate, according to the political left, there is no such thing as a 'former' addict of anything; so I sense a bit of intolerance here.'---What in the heck are you talking about? That's just nonsense. There is no 'Left' that has some kind of mass opinion on matters like that because unlike the right, we think for ourselves.
'Second, I too thought MF might have purposely been off his medicine for the commercial, for the purpose of eliciting either drama or sympathy. There is a passage in his book about him doing exactly that, for public testimony and the sort.' ---Well what else would you expect from a republican (since he recently campaigned for Arlen Specter).
'Third, almost everybody has missed MF's unstated message 'Kill the fetuses, so that I may live!''---Nonsense, Stem Cells have nothing to do with fetuses in this context. It's a fact, look it up, and not in an Ann Coulter book.
'Fourth, did you see the YouTube parody of MF? He's got his pill bottle in his hand, and he's trying to take the pills as he speaks, but because of his flailing about, he can't get them in his mouth. They're flying all over the place. It IS funny. Sometimes we cope with tragedy by using comedy.'---Coping is different than defaming somebody for partisan purposes.
'Last, re: all right wing Republicans are evil, that is just so stupid, even for the inner city. What about the old saw that 'all black people like watermelon and chicken?' Isn't this statement in that exact vein?'---Show me a Republican who isn't trying to weasle out of the fact that they are torturers who are selling the country to the red chinese, and who have killed more babies by neglect and wars of choice than abortion ever could, and we'll reconsider.
'In fact, I always thought that Democrats, who want to confiscate (i.e., steal) wealth and spend it on things like studying the farting of cows, who call people names, and feign to know people's motivations, I thought they were the ones who are evil. Not all of them, just the money-confiscating, name-calling, mind-reading ones.'---It's a fact that cows fart. It's also a fact that methane is a central greenhouse gas. Therefore studying how to reduce the methane from cows could allow you to pretend global warming doesn't even exist for a while longer while you go farting around in your SUVs.
'Do you think that more people would be offended by this view or less? I know the answer - Mo' be.'---Again... Watchyou talkin' 'bout.
Bud you are as ignorant as Rush ... get informed
Fox takes medication to provide relief from tremors, rigidity, bradykinesia, and loss of balance
'Unfortunately, with increased dosing and prolonged use of levodopa, patients experience other side-effects including dyskinesias (spontaneous, involuntary movements) and 'on-off' periods when the medication will suddenly and unpredictably start or stop working.'
In other words if does not take medication he is mute and stiff like a zombie. If he takes the medication he has the moves of a cerebral palsy sufferer.
Embryonic stem cell research is not the only avenue for a cure. We are currently pursuing adult stem cell research which has the same promise without the moral implications. There are also a variety of other lines of study including research into neurotrophic factors which can revive dormant brain cells (see Fox’s web site). Embryonic stem cells have become a political tool rather than a scientific approach. We are and will continue to study them, but with care and respect for the moral issues. In regards to the Fox ad, he certainly has the right to say whatever he wants. However, there is absolutely no scientific evidence that embryonic stem cells will produce a cure, or be any different than studies of adult stem cells. It is simply easier to get them because they can be harvested from an aborted fetus without concern for preserving the life. In that regard, Fox is misrepresenting the truth and Rush has the same right to point it out.
