David Hasselhoff a 'hot topic' at MAC gala event

David Hasselhoff and many other stars and notables attended last night’s (10/26/06) cosmetics giant MAC's premier of Chinese Dress, a live visual homage of body makeup done to extraordinary lengths.
MAC’s annual party celebrating the craft of makeup is the first in the upcoming season of award shows, heralding the onslaught of all impending galas in Hollywood.
The entire block of Beverly and Robertson in Beverly Hills was shut down and tented, complete with Chinese lanterns, and custom lighting installations that highlighted each model on display.
Models were hand painted from head to toe, sans any clothing. Masterful Trompe l'oeil that had hand applied sequins, rhinestones, pearls and floral murals painstakingly applied on each model, replete with a finishing headdress.
Actor David Hasselhoff was one of the celebrities in attendance that I had a chance to speak with. “These models are amazing,” he said, noting the work up close as most attendees believed them to be in clothing, until a closer look showed they were in fact painted and not dressed save for a bare minimal thong cover that was made up to match the continuous mural on their skin.
Hasselhoff mentioned his own clothing line that was inspired while he was in London promoting his new book, which he says is currently a bestseller. “I have a line of clothing, t-shirts with all kinds of sayings” said Hasselhoff. “Don’t Hassle the Hoff,” all kinds of sayings, you name it; I’ve got a deal with Hot Topic (US trend retailer) to sell them.”
“I’ve got a closet full of them, and you’ll be able to buy them soon.” He said.
Also seen at the live art installation party was Philadelphia girl Gloria Allred, the prominent attorney and author who had represented Amber Frey, the former lover and star witness against Scott Peterson, who is on Death Row for murdering his pregnant wife, Laci, in 2003.
The event also hosted local 706 Makeup and hairsylists top notch players, including past MAHS executive rules committee chairman Leonard Engelman and current president of Local 706, Sue Cabral-Ebert.
