Nicole Kidman's Urban ultimatum

Nicole Kidman reportedly told husband Keith Urban their marriage was over unless he checked into rehab.
The country singer allegedly confessed to Nicole over the phone that he'd started drinking again while she was away in Europe filming her latest movie.
A source told Life and Style magazine: "Nicole called Keith and confronted him. He got defensive and accused her of spying on him. She gave him a choice. He could enter a program or she'd leave him.
"He chose the former. Keith can't stand the thought of life without Nicole. That's his motivation to kick this thing for good."
The source also revealed the 'Cold Mountain' star has been comforted by her ex-husband Tom Cruise, who is due to marry Katie Holmes in November.
The source said: "As soon as Tom heard, he called Nic to offer any help he could give. He said to call anytime for anything she needs. It meant a lot to Nicole.
"She's an emotional wreck. She would never say it to Keith, but she's telling her family and close friends that her marriage is hanging by the thread.
The source added: "She says she wants to help Keith conquer his demons so the two of them can move on with their lives."
Urban, 39, checked into rehab last Thursday (19.10.06)

this is a tipical 'fan' position, not really objective.
Why would anyone believe 100% what gossip mags are saying? I would not see a woman leaving his man just after 5 months of marriage. I think this is just a fake story!
anyone can fall from 'grace' time and time again that doesn't make them a monster and God forbid that Keith's uncle EVER have any type of 'monkey' on his back then HE might have some people have comments made about him. Keep your head up Keith and you can do this you've done it before and you can do it again. You music keeps me going when I'm having a hard day. I'll keep you in my prayers.
Well this is really appaulling, if Nicole is having enough of Kieth because he's got major drinking problems then they might as well have not even married each other, there's no point of marrying someone unless you really will stick up for them!
They might as well just end their marriage now if they're not going to get along!
If I were Keith I'd divorce her solely for making me spend my birthday alone in a rehab clinic - while she was with friends and family in LA. One week really wouldn't have made much of a difference. In fact, waiting 2 weeks until the album came out, attending the ARIA & CMA's, and promoting may be just what he needed to start cleaning himself up. Having work to do instead of sitting around the house waiting for his wife to come home from another country may have worked wonders. Too bad Nic didn't give him a chance to try it.
I hate that he was clean and sober for 8 years on his own - he admitted rehab didn't work for him before and had to do it on his own - and slipped off the wagon after she came into his life. They should divorce - she shouldn't live with an alcoholic and he shouldn't live with someone who makes him want to drink. I hope when he leaves he sues her and collects for her ruining his career.
Why is she always made out to be the victim? Poor Nicole needs comfort...Poor Nicole this, Poor Nicole that! If she is as whiney and demanding as the press makes her out to be then Keith probably checked into rehab just to get away from her for 28 days!
Nicole Kidman is a whiny baby! She does not deserve to be married to Keith Urban! She should consider herself EXTREMELY LUCKY to even have a chance with him. He made a HUGE MISTAKE and now he realizes that. They have nothing in common but Australia. They are totally opposites. You people have all lost your minds. Did it never cross your minds that she wants him to get help because she cares about him? If she actually gave him an ultimatum (and come on, who really knows that? these 'insiders' the media talks about are prolly not really in the know - anyone who is really intimate with the couple would have the courtesy to keep their mouths shut), it was most likely to HELP him - he probably needed a wake-up call. Alcoholism is a terrible, chronic disease, that needs treatment just like cancer or the flu or depression. You guys need to back off and have some common sense. Do a little research on the subject before you start accusing family members of alcoholics of being nasty, demanding, and whiney.
You know it is disgusting listening to all the fans in defense of Urban. Just like Urbans ex-girl friend stated before he married Kidman, 'he will be back to his old ways, just give him time'. Well it sounds like he is back. Everybody sticks up for him and no one knows him. All you hear is 'I know Keith would never do that'. Grow up fans, he is human like the rest of us. He is a great musician, a person like the rest of us that has a great talent but other than that just like the rest of us with his own problems.
Nicole is one of the most UNtalented actresses in Hollywood.She's totally fake from her hair color to her botox injected, wrinkle free snear. I think Keith married her in an attempt to 'settle down' and then soon after (4months) realized he's chained to a skank. Get some help Keith and GET OUT of that marriage.
I remember that Nicole Kidman already knew of his alcohol addiction and he admitted that he would always have a problem with it. It was great of him to tell her that he started drinking again. He needs her support. That is what husbands and wives do. I know that being married for 18 years, that my husband has stood by me for a lot of things, but also told me when I was wrong. Yes, I did not like it; but it did make be take a look at the woman in the mirror and want to be better for him. If they have the love that we have, then he will do anything for his woman and a woman that stands besides him. Yes, only he can make the choice, but the help of a good woman is a plus. He may fail again..,(hopefully not), but love may this time conquer all for him.
While not being the biggest fan of Nicole (but do I really know her...no), I am glad that she has found someone. She is not perfect; he is not perfect... Are you perfect?

Who know what's true?? This has been a total mess for 10 days now. I am NOT a fan of NK, but a big fan of KU, but let's just hope she will stand by him and try to help him with this problem that has come back to haunt him again. I'm ready for a good old Keith concert and I'm sure she's is ready to get on with her film career as well.

News reports have said Keith entered rehab for alcohol addiction, but The Enquirer is breaking that it wasn't just a problem with the drink, but a relapse with the white magic pixie dust too??
And now there are reports that she wants to adopt again?Can she have kids?Is Urban able to father a child?
Its time that she ditched the anchors and weirdos in her life.She managed to get away from the cult of Scientology,but her kids are under the control of her ex.
She doesnt need to have a new child when all these problems are cropping up.Just when the new kid gets to know Urban they may get divorced and its the same old story all over again.
Every time she is apart from him she is going to be worrying.that kind of worry can take a harsh toll on a person.
She should take a year off,discover the world,discover herself,find her path in life.No dating,relationships etc.You have to be happy with yourself before you can find happiness with another.

Some model has talked to the British tabloids about her ongoing affair with Keith right up to the time of his engagement to Nicole. A tough one for Nic, she'll have to dump him
This whole thing has been doomed from the start.All Keith's been getting out of it is a ton of negative press.All he's known as now is Poor Nicole Kidman's drunken druggie cheating husband.Before her he was an award winning platnuim recording artist.She is killing his career,he needs to get away from her,while he can still come back.Start the new year off right, Keith and kick her bony butt to the curb and go back to making music.
My opinion and again, this is just my opinion, Nicole Kidman is a control freak and a rude BITCH. Keith and Nicole were in a Starbucks one day, when one of the customers in line started up a total casual conversation with Keith. Nicole rudely butted in and said 'We aren't doing autographs today!' and stormed off. Keith was entirely humiliated and embarassed by Nicole's behavior, Keith went over to the gentleman and apoligized for her behavior, gave the guy $20.00, and told him to have a great day.
As for her threating to leave him if he didn't enter a rehab!!! He would be MUCH better off without that rude BITCH!!
Keith...Get smart and leave that person.
About the Starbucks comment...it is true, I saw the post from the person that it happenend to. Keith got seduced and manipulated by Nicole...now he is stuck married to her and she is carrying his child. He is responsible for his own actions, but she definitely takes advantage of him.
He needs to stand up to her....their fake public displays of affection are not fooling anyone...they married for the wrong reasons......not that I'm for divorce, but no one deserves to be emotionally abused.

I think she is a control freak. Nowhere has it ever said Keith had a problem with alcohol.
If she is so concerned about him drinking, why would she tempt him by keeping beer in the house? Anyone who has followed this story knows that a couple days before the wedding, they sent out beer for all the paparazzi camped outside her house in Sydney. Get a grip, Nicole! You don't keep alcohol in the presence of an 'alcoholic'.
I hope the marriage is hanging by a thread, and I hope the thread breaks soon. He's much better off without her.
