Kate Hudson and Chris Robinson at loggerheads over son

The Butterscotch Stallion, aka Owen Wilson, has been spending lots of time with his new love, Kate Hudson.  During which he has also been spending time with Kate's son Ryder. There's the rub, pere Chris Robinson isn't having it, according to reports from Life & Style magazine.

Kate Hudson is about to head to Australia for the next five months to film Fool’s Gold, with ripped and hunky and "not gay" single Matthew McConaughey. 

Kate's soon-to-be ex-husband Chris Robinson has been making a case to let Ryder stay with him for part of the time she’s away.

But Kate’s is not in agreement with this plan, an unnamed friend allegedly close to Kate tells Life & Stylemag.com.

“Chris has been pleading with Kate to let him have Ryder for a month while she’s in Australia,” the unnamed Life & Style source says. “There’s no way she will let that happen. It’s a dead-end conversation.”

Allegedly Robinson is "furious" that Owen Wilson has been spending quality time with Ryder.

With conflicting reports, and despite Hudson's attempts at quashing them, “He doesn’t believe her,” the source says. “He’s very frustrated with the whole situation right now. He feels like he doesn’t have any control, and basically he doesn’t, especially because he’s still touring with his band.”
