Kate Moss and Pete's private wedding?

Kate Moss and Pete Doherty will marry in a private London ceremony.

The supermodel and the Babyshambles frontman are reportedly planning to tie the knot at Marylebone Register Office either at Christmas or on January 16, which is Kate's birthday.

The lovers are said to have chosen the venue because of its rich musical history.

A host of celebrities - including Paul and Linda McCartney, and Liam Gallagher and Patsy Kensit - have taken their vows in the old town hall.

A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "They considered a wedding in Ibiza or the Caribbean but chose Marylebone because it is in London, it is cool and they will be following in the footsteps of their idols."

The couple - who have been dating on and off since January last year - are said to be planning an intimate ceremony before heading off to Barbados for the honeymoon.

The source added: "They want an intimate ceremony for their friends and family. They're not the sort to flog the picture rights to a glossy magazine."

Kate and Pete fuelled engagement rumours at the weekend after they were seen looking at rings during a romantic trip to Florence.

Kate, 32, made her best efforts to hide a ring she was wearing when she arrived in Heathrow airport on Sunday (22.10.06) by covering it up with her sleeve.

Meanwhile, Pete's uncle Phil Michels says the catwalk queen is pregnant with his nephew's baby.

He told said: "I have spoken to Pete twice about the baby and he has confirmed that Kate is pregnant. Pete told me they want a baby to cement their marriage."
