Heather Mills has reportedly claimed Sir Paul McCartney used to hit his first wife Linda.
The ex-model intends to ask the former Beatles' staff to testify in court that he was violent to her during their marriage, and claims they saw him treat Linda the same way.
A source told Britain's Mail on Sunday newspaper: "She told me that he did to Linda what he did to her that Linda had also suffered abuse. She told me that staff of Paul's told her that Linda had also suffered abuse."
However, Sir Paul's former publicity man Geoff Baker hit back, saying: " It's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard in my life. Everyone knows that Paul and Linda had one of the happiest marriages in showbiz. "
The claims follow the publication of divorce court papers which were leaked last week, alleging Paul was abusive to Heather during their marriage.
But it has also been claimed that it was in fact Heather who was violent, and once threw a bottle of tomato ketchup at Paul's head in September 2003.
A source told Britain's News of the World newspaper: "It was Heather who caused all the rows by constantly nagging Paul, and they turned violent. The housekeeper would have to come in and clean up afterwards.
"After the ketchup battle there were marks where a bottle of ketchup had been thrown and landed just behind where Paul usually sits. It must have just missed him."
On November 3 Heather is scheduled to make a legal application for the £1 billion divorce case to be heard in open court. The full case is though to go ahead next March. Heather, 38, and Paul, 64, have a two-year-old daughter Bea together.

It is easy to be wise after the event, but many people must be telling Sir Paul - 'told you so'.
On the surface it would appear that HM is a very unsavoury individual. However they are the parents of a 3 year old whose future must be considered.
Very sad. As a contemporary of Paul McCartney I have always admired his talent and feel for him in these trying circumstances. It's a shame that he is confronted with such nonsense at this time in his life. Let's hope there is a quick and equitable settlement and the lady remembers to keep mum.
I hate to say it but Heather Mills should get nothing only her daugter
as she has been horrid to Sir Paul and if she is unstable like it sounds
he should get the child
yours sincerly

The woman is an outrage.
I don't believe in billionaire divorce cases.
I don't believe in disabled billionaire victims.
I don't believe in divorce lawyers in expensive suits.
I don't believe in Beatles.
I just believe in me.
Yoko and me.
Oh, wait, that ain't reality.
