Rome Film festival snubs Sophia Loren

Mamma Mia! Unimaginably, the Italian film star, the eternally beautiful Sophia Loren is rightfully fuming after being "overlooked" by organizers of the Rome Film Festival, who failed to invite the iconic Italian star to the opening ceremony.

EPA/SERGEI ILNITSKYThe festival opened this last weekend, has been attended by Nicole Kidman, Monica Bellucci and Sean Connery, but the 71-year-old Loren's invitation was M.I.A.Loren's sister, Maria Scicolone, who lives in Rome, says, "We sat at home and ate chocolates."A last-minute invitation does not seem to me the proper way to go about things. Sophia is not exactly an unknown."
