Hilary Duff is living in fear of her life after being stalked by two fans.
The 'Cheaper by the Dozen' actress has been forced to take out a restraining order against the pair identified in legal papers as Max, a 19-year-old immigrant from Russia, and his roommate, David Joseph Klein, 50, a self-proclaimed paparazzi.
According to court documents filed on behalf of Duff in Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday (12.10.06), the pair have turned up at her mother's house, at Duff's local market, a concert where her boyfriend's band, Good Charlotte, were performing and have tried to contact her manager on more than one occasion.
Max - who moved to the US two years ago - has, according to legal papers, threatened "buy a weapon and kill himself", to "engage in dramatic actions" to get Duff's attention and to "remove enemies" who stand in his way because he and the star "belong together".
A full hearing on the case is scheduled for November 15, but, for now, both men have been ordered to stay at least 100 feet away from Duff and her boyfriend Joel Madden and their families.
