Fashion icon Yves Saint Laurent injured in fall

French fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent is recovering at home following a bad fall on a Paris street on Friday. EPA/- The Rive Gauche fashion recluse took a tumble stepping into his car during the French capital's Fashion Week, and lay motionless in the road for several minutes until emergency services arrived.A spokeswoman at the Yves-Saint-Laurent Foundation insists the 70-year-old did not undergo hospital treatment, and is recovering quietly at his private residence.
She says, "Monsieur Saint Laurent did not have a heart attack. He just missed the curb, dropping into his car, and he fell. He's fine and he did not go to the hospital." Yves Saint Laurent has been fairly reclusive since 2002.Yves Saint Laurent left home at the age of 17 to work for the french designer Christian Dior. When Dior passed in 1957, 21 year old Saint-Laurent became the top designer and voice of the house of Dior, saving it from financial ruin. Wikipedia reports "Saint-Laurent started his own couture house, which was financed by his lover Pierre Bergé in 1962. The couple split in 1976 but remained business partners."
