Sheryl Crow's cancer all-clear
Oct 6, 2006, 12:56 GMT
Sheryl Crow has been given the all-clear from breast cancer.
The singer was diagnosed with the potentially fatal disease earlier this year, but has now been told she is cancer free by doctors.
She said: "I went to the doctor and I had a mammogram. I can't lie to you - it hurt. They did a whole bunch of different shots of both breasts and, as far as I know, I'm free and clear."
However, Crow, 44, has been told she must go and have a check-up every six months for the next three years to make sure the cancer does not return.
The 'If It Makes You Happy Singer' was previously engaged to cycling legend Lance Armstrong who himself bravely overcame testicular cancer.
The pair, who first met in 2003, split in February before Crow was diagnosed with the disease.
She is not the only music star to beat breast cancer. Kylie Minogue and Anastacia have both overcome the illness.
