MALIBU - Charlie's Angeles icon Farrah Fawcett is battling colon cancer, according to press reports.
Doctors discovered a malignant tumor in her lower intestine and she has been undergoing intensive radiation to shrink it.
The National Enquirer reports after Fawcett has surgery to remove the cancer, the 59-year-old former Charlie's Angels star will have to endure chemotherapy and grueling radiation treatments.
The frightening news came after the star's appearance on Aug. 27th at the Emmy Awards, where she appeared in an Aaron Spelling tribute with "Angels" costars Jaclyn Smith and Kate Jackson.
A family friend tells the magazine that her illness has reuited her with Ryan O'Neal, who's survived his own battle with leukemia.
The unnamed source tells the Enquirer, "After Farrah got the diagnosis--cancer of the anus and lower intestine--she was devastated. Everyone in the family cried for days.
"Then she snapped out of it and told Ryan, 'I'm going to beat this!'"

I lost my mum to bowel cancer. She was only 58. I was recently diagnosed with bowel cancer as well. I'm not yet 50!. I hope Farrahs condition is treatable and she makes a full recovery. To anyone lese who reads this:
If you have rectal bleeding / irregular bowel habit or notice a sudden change please see your doctor. If you are over 40 or have a family history of bowel cancer, make an appointment with your Doctor for a regualr colonoscopy.
The best way to tackle this insidious killer is being vigilent & early detection.
A colonoscopy might sound ickky...It isn't... and trust me, Bowel Cancer surgery is a lot worse, especially the cancer has spread or if you leave it undiagnosed & untreated.
I am so sorry for her. My father died of colon cancer. Butt, if anyone can beat this bummer cancer, it is Farrah. She has way too nice of a but to not beat this. I would hate to lose such a fantastic a$$ to some crummy cancer.
Farrah, your loved by so many, may god be in your life and help you as you go through this, the lord says to lean on him and all things, trust in the lord, I love you.
Farrah, I'm from a little town call HIllsboro,tx. I remember when you came in town to see your dying grandmother and I felt so sorry for you. I still have the pictures they took of you at the hospital. Any way we have something else in common had a cardiac arrest in 1995 and your cousin brought me back to life. There was a Dr. gave up on me, but Larry said he was going to shock me 1 more time and when he did my heart starting beating!!!!!! I mean my heart wasn't beating for about 30 min. or so. I was in a comma for 3 days and when I came out he was scare there might be some damage there was some memory lost but I was alive!!!!!!!!!!! I always thought I was healthy. But if it wasn't for Larry I don't think I would be here. I pray for your health. My grandmother had colon cancer and Larry was her Dr. too. Anyway keep a up beat attitude and you can beat it .I always looked up to you. Love Barbara

My heart breaks for Farrah. I am so sorry for the heart-ache that her and her family must endure. I lost my sister last year to lung cancer and it was the most devistating thing my family has encountered to date. My sister was very brave once she got over the initial shock. She faught with all she had and it was not for her, but for her family. Her words to me that I will never forget is that we have the hard part and that she has the easy part. I saw Farrah on the news tonight and I just wanted to cry for her and her family.
