David Hasselhoff has rubbished reports claiming his 14-year-old daughter tried to commit suicide.
Instead, the former 'Baywatch' star says he called emergency services after Hayley suffered "a severe scratch on her forearm" while playing with family pets at her mother's home in the San Fernando Valley, California, on Sunday night (24.09.06).
Hasselhoff's spokesperson Judy Katz told BANG Showbiz: "Upon boarding an overnight flight for overseas last night (Sunday), Mr Hasselhoff received a call from his oldest daughter alerting him that his younger daughter had been playing with the dog and cat at her mother's home.
"The cat gave her a severe scratch on her forearm and she was bleeding. Mr Hasselhoff did what any responsible parent would do, he called 911 to report the incident and asked if they would send someone to check up on his child."
Katz added: "They responded and she was taken to a local hospital, treated and released shortly thereafter.
"She is currently at her mother's home. Fortunately, the scratch was superficial.
According to reports, Hasselhoff - who is locked in a bitter divorce battle with the girls' mother, and his estranged wife, Pamela Bach - denies telling emergency services the injury was a suicide attempt, but Katz claims the 911 operator "may have interpreted it that way".
