Hugh Grant's fashion show shame
Sep 21, 2006, 16:20 GMT
Hugh Grant was left red-faced after he was stopped from entering a show during London Fashion Week.
The 'Notting Hill' actor was accompanying girlfriend Jemima Khan to the relaunch of 60s clothing label Biba, when he was suddenly held back by a catwalk assistant, who failed to recognise him.
Allyson Higgins was determined to make sure only A-list stars were allowed into the VIP seats and when she noticed a man following Jemima, she pulled him back by his arm and shouted: "NO!"
However, the overly enthusiastic employee was mortified when she realised who Hugh was.
She said: "We cleared the end of the catwalk to allow them to cross it. Jemima walked in and I put out my arm to keep the crowd back and felt someone push against it. I grabbed him and turned around and looked and it was Hugh Grant. I was like, 'Oh, no!'"
However, Hugh was not flustered and laughed off the incident.
Allyson added: "I'm sure he could see the complete panic in my eyes and he knew I made a mistake. I was so shocked I couldn't even say sorry."
