Brad Pitt fills Cruise's shoes at Paramount

Insiders in Hollywood are banking on Brad Pitt filling the void of Tom Cruise at Paramount studios. Sumner Redstone said adios to Cruise and Co., and has now positioned A-lister Pitt and his production company "Plan B" to join Paramount. Word is Brad is will play the lead in the next “Mission: Impossible” sequel. Brad wouldn’t be playing Tom’s character of Ethan Hunt, but would rather play a new operative spy. “They’re set on Brad taking over as a gutsy new head operative who puts together his own unique team of specialists,” one unnamed source said to Access Hollywood.Mr. & Mrs. Smith grossed near $400 worldwide, which is in the same league as Mission: Impossible 3.Access Hollywood movie analyst Scott Mantz said. “He’s sexy, he’s fit, he’s an A-list star in his own right, and after playing a similar role in last year’s blockbuster ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith,’ he’s certainly got the action chops.”
