when you have to LEAVE your country because the political leadership changes to religious dictatorship and no longer PERMITS you to live your life the way you use to, and actually forbids you to continue your education because of your SEX,
you ARE a refugee when you seek asylum in another country to live your life unimpinged.

It is an example of the amount of wasted talent, of women within the Islamic world.
Here is a woman, who, if she was in Iran, would have probably been hobbling around, a few steps behind her man, in 'black desert wear'.
In many Islamic countries it is believed that women should not be allowed out without a chaperone. If the woman wants to go somewhere, she has to go as far a bribing her younger brother to escort her, to and fro.
Imaging though, how much an escort would have cost for this trip. She travelled all the way to space without a man by her side, to protect her and keep her dignity.

her ambition is really inspiring not for Iranian women but for every woman over the world.
It is clear that russian made Anoshe dream to be a space tourist a reality not americans. This shows Anoshe with support of her family could be a successful tycoon and make her dream a reality.This prove how rich are iranian culture a side of politics conflict between Iran and west.
This is a Muslim women going in space. Media is mute about her being Muslim except for references to being iranian. Had she been found with a 1 inch pocket knife 2 miles from a US airport, all US media would have identified as 'Muslim women' and 'terrorist'.
There are some comments here attributing her success to 'western influence' only. But they are ignoring that she herself had stated 'I have a lot of roots in Iran and feel very close to the Iranian people and the culture of the country.'. Also she will be wearing both US and Iranian flag in the space.
She has made many statements, as many recent refugees and immigrants do when they attain success in the States, that her heart and culture lies in her home country. that can be said for millions in the USA.
She does not wear her 'muslim' beliefs on her sleeve, and the story I posted was reported celebrated the fact that once again, due to a country's religious intolerance (whether it is jewish, christian or muslim) the USA benefits from the exodus of great foreign born minds coming and flourishing in freedom, to be who and what they were destined to be without restraints.
We (Americans) don't care how she worships God. We are just glad she calls America her new home.

BS!! The Americans aren't that hard up for money like the Russians..and it was because of the opportunities in America that made her dream possible.
To me its a waste of 20 Million from a person who is a refugee from Iran and could have helped others in her Country..but her true Greed shows.
