Affleck blames J.Lo for his lousy movie role choices
Sep 7, 2006, 15:42 GMT
Ben Affleck claims breaking up from Jennifer Lopez improved his career.
The actor - who starred with his former fiancée in box office flops 'Jersey Girl' and 'Gigli' - says during his highly publicised relationship with J.Lo he became "cynical" about his career.
He told Scotland's Daily Record newspaper: "I did popcorn stuff. But I didn't realise that there are good popcorn movies and bad popcorn movies.
"Ultimately, I found myself with the horrible feeling of being trapped inside this tabloid situation where my personal life was all out there."
After his relationship with Lopez ended, Affleck - who now has a nine-month-old daughter, Violet, with his actress wife Jennifer Garner - insist he reassessed his priorities and decided he needed to turn his back on Hollywood fame and fortune
He said: "I kind of made a decision to just do the kind of movies I want and that I could be proud of being in, and not work for money or work to be famous or for any of that stuff."
