Gibson says sorry for slurs

Mel Gibson has apologised for insulting the police officers who arrested him for drunk-driving.
The shamed actor was arrested on July 28 after being stopped on the Pacific Coast Highway, in Maui, for speeding.
As he was being questioned by the officers, Gibson launched into an anti-Semitic tirade, during which he now infamously said: "Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world."
He was also alleged to have called a female police officer "sugar t**s".
Gibson, 50, had already publicly apologised to the Jewish community but he has now said sorry to the two officers.
He reportedly sent the policewoman he insulted a £275 bouquet of flowers accompanied with a note expressing his "sincerest apologies".
Gibson has also invited her and her Jewish colleague James Mee, who was subjected to his anti-Semitic comments, to the premiere of his upcoming film 'Apocalypto'.
Gibson was given three years probation, fined $1,300, had his driving license restricted for 90 days, ordered to attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and told to enrol in an alcohol abuse programme for three months by the courts following the incident.
