August 27, 2006 - Beverly Hills, CA 20th Century Fox TV and Fox Broadcasting celebrates 2006 Emmy Award Nominees at Spago in Beverly Hills, CA. ©Chris Hatcher/Photorazzi 'The Sentinel' star had gotten so fed-up with acting he decided to pursue another career, completely different to what he had done before.He said: "My career has had incredibly highs and really bad downs. "There was a point where I wasn't being offered anything and the things I did get weren't very good. I actually quit for a while in the mid 90s and went and trained to be a rodeo rider."However, Kiefer's decision to continue acting was vindicated last week when he won the best actor award at the Emmys.The star picked up the prestigious prize for his role as anti-terror agent Jack Bauer in hit series '24'.The real-time drama was the big series winner of the night picking up five awards, including two at the Creative Emmys ceremony which took place a week earlier.Both '24' and Sutherland were nominated for five years in a row before finally ending their losing streak this year.(C) BANG Media International
