Michael Douglas keen to do a children's film
Sep 1, 2006, 13:45 GMT
Michael Douglas is desperate to do a children's film - because his kids can't watch any of his movies.
'The Sentinel' actor - who is best known for roles in adult themed hits, such as 'Basic Instinct' and 'Fatal Attraction' - can't wait to show his softer side so his two children, Dylan, six, and Carys, three, can see him in action.
Douglas, who is married to Catherine Zeta-Jones, said: "I desperately want to do one because unfortunately my career is made up of movies that my children cannot see.
"I am reaching a point where they know what mommy does but they ask, 'What does daddy do?'"
However, Douglas, 61, has refused to make an animated film because they don't pay well enough.
He explained: "The animation thing has always bothered me because, and I'll probably get in trouble for saying this, but it generally has been a license to steal.
"The reason I say that is because they don't treat it as an actual performance in terms of salary or as your profit share so they get to do a likeness of you, they make this likeness of you, and they use your voice.
He added: "Also, they usually go after you just after you've had your first child and say, 'Wouldn't it be nice to make a movie that your kids could go see?'. It's a racket!"
