Ashlee Simpson rumoured to make stage debut

Ashlee Simpson is rumoured to be about to make her stage debut in the hit musical 'Chicago'.
The 21-year-old star, the sister of Jessica Simpson, has reportedly been offered the role of jailbird Roxie Hart in either the New York or London productions of the show.
A source told Us Weekly magazine: 'She will probably choose London.' A spokesman for the musical said: 'There is no confirmation of a role for Ashlee Simpson at this time.' The film version of 'Chicago' starred Renée Zellweger as Roxie, alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones and Richard Gere. Singer Usher made his debut in the Broadway version of 'Chicago' this week.Copyright 2006 BANG Media International
