Moss and Doherty 'deeply in love' claim
Aug 22, 2006, 18:29 GMT
Pete Doherty's mum believes Kate Moss and her son are "deeply in love."
The 'Babyshambles' frontman and the supermodel recently rekindled their romance, and Pete has even vowed to give up drugs for Kate.
Despite the hysteria surrounding their relationship, Pete's mum Jackie - who has only met Kate once - insists their feelings for each other are genuine. She told Britain's The Times newspaper: "I think everyone should leave them
alone. They've been deeply in love and people just won't leave them alone."
Jackie is extremely concerned about her son's drug addictions and despite struggling to convince him to go into rehab, the 52-year-old refuses to give up on her son.
She added: "I could never turn my back on my son."
Last week, Pete was charged with seven counts of drug possession and has been told by the courts that he must get clean or will be jailed.
Jackie insists her son's worst fear is to be sent back to prison.
She said: "He dreads going back to prison.
"He doesn't want to die. He enjoys his life. He is fragile, but I think he is still a happy soul."
