Moscow - Blanket security measures will be taken to protect Madonna during her Moscow concert next month following reported threats to kidnap the star and her children, tour organizers said Monday.
'Shadowy criminal circles will have no chance to harm the singer,' promoter Anton Atrashkin said.
British media claimed earlier that the Russian mafia had targeted Madonna, son Rocco and daughter Lourdes when they arrive for the September 11 open-air performance by Moscow state university.
The alleged abduction risk was linked to outrage among Russian Orthodox believers over what they regard as blasphemous elements in her stage show.
