Paula Abdul shocked at “weird Brits” on ‘The X Factor”

LONDON -American Idol judge Paula Abdul is no stranger to extroverted nutters, after several seasons sitting in judgment of America’s talented and many times delusional as they vie for a chance at stardom on hit series American Idol. The US contestants have been a wild array of personalities and styles.
Abdul is now stunned by her jump across the pond at Simon Cowell’s bequest to judge on the new UK reality series The X Factor finding out that British contestants can top the best of the bizarre. The former singer sits with Simon Cowell and Sharon Osbourne on the panel.
Abdul says, "In America we have our share of weirdness, but I've never seen contestants who are so persistent when you're told no. In the US they take the criticism and walk but this was freakishly enjoyable."
