Simon Cowell has soft spot for fuzzy beasts
By Stone Martindale Aug 11, 2006, 20:31 GMT
British megastar Simon Cowell has a place in heart for animals, not necessarily humans.
American Idol judge extraordinaire and now X-Factor judge Simon Cowell has issued a caveat to any budding contestants. Animal lovers need only apply.
Cowell has recently been interviewed in the webzine HelpingAnimals.com, put out by PETA that details the guidelines to auditioning prospects for his hit TV talent contest.
"Would I be more sympathetic (to contestants) if they were animal lovers? Yes... of course. Maybe some people are surprised that I like animals, but there's a bit of a difference between telling someone who's a useless singer, 'You're a useless singer,' (and) drowning a puppy. I once had an incident with a guy who auditioned who actually admitted he likes killing animals. (He) didn't go through." Said Cowell.

I agree with Simon. Anyone who picks on helpless animals are cowards.
