If the rumors are to be believed, according to Rotten Tomatoes, actor Mel Gibson might be in talks to sign onto the film Lethal Weapon 5.
Rotten Tomatoes writes, "Word has it that the sobriety-challenged Mel Gibson has jumped aboard the production of "Lethal Weapon 5," which the actor-turned-director had, until recently (read: until the events of last week) not considered joining. But, since his Holocaust mini-series has been cancelled, Gibson's schedule has cleared up -- and it wouldn't hurt on the PR front to give fans another "Lethal Weapon."
Currently, the reigning Mel mania has switched focus from "how dare he" to news outlets chasing down on the record comments of support and friendship by fellow actors and peers. The outcome may be rosy after all for Malibu’s most wanted male lead.

dear mel, im from manila philippines. when i had watched lethal weapon for the first time i knew that i will never miss any of you movies again. please dont listen to the people who keep on criticizing you, you have so many fans who believe and support you. im hoping and praying for you recovery. God bless and remember this difficult times will make you even a stronger and bigger person.

Mel, I REALLY hope you make another Lethal Weapon movie....my husband and I just LOVE all of them and we would be more than happy to see a new one. Don't worry about what others are saying about you, trust me, I know how acohol can and will make you say things you don't mean. I still love you as an actor regardless of what you may have said and regardless of what others say about you. You are a GREAT actor, a GREAT person and no matter what, my husband and I WILL watch Lethal Weapon 5 if you make it. (which I REALLY hope you do!!!)
I REALLY hope all these things you supposibly said just go away and if people have problems with you, then screw 'em!!! You have MANY fans and hopefully it will stay that way. You are 1 of the GREATEST actors and I just LOVE watching you in Lethal Weapon movies...I watch them over and over again, so PLEASE, make Lethal Weapon 5 if at all possible, cause you are a wonderful actor and people really need to understand that when your drinking, you can and will say anything whether you mean it or not. Good luck with your issue and just remember, there are some of us out here that still love you as an actor regardless!!!!
