Christie Brinkley in Long Island, chin up and all smiles

Spotted by intrepid New York Daily News roving reporters, the Queen of Long Island “never shone so brightly” according to Rich Schapiro of the Daily News, as Christie Brinkley did when spotted shopping in the Long Island village of Sag Harbor yesterday.Brinkley caused a bit of a commotion as people came out of the woodwork to get a glimpse of the Uptown Girl making the rounds on the quaint street.Always gracious, Brinkley reportedly waved back at fans, and smiled big despite the current strained situation she is dealing with at home thanks to husband Peter Cook.
Cook has issued a publicly apology to his wife through his attorney for sleeping with Diana Bianchi, his 19-year-old assistant. Christie has remained mum about the whole incident.Daily News photographer John Roca received a compliment from the Total Gym spokesperson, "That was a nice picture." Brinkley reported saying.Her kindness to the local paparazzi and the Daily News reporters and photographers never waned. "I'm sorry you got stuck with this assignment again," she told The Daily News. "It's such a heat wave."
