Paul McCartney has officially filed for divorce from Heather Mills McCartney, according to British news reports.
McCartney is said to be citing “unreasonable behavior” but Mills isn’t lying down and taking it, she is vowing to fight the case in both Britain and America.
People magazine reports: "Heather's going to be filing her own counterclaims about matters both in this country and America," according to her U.K. rep.
There is no pre-nuptial agreement, and what is at stake is the 64-year-old musician's fortune, estimated to top $1.5 billion, along with the custody of their 2-year-old daughter.
The Daily Mirror reported that a McCartney insider told the paper that the couple split last May because of Mills' "unreasonable behavior" which included being "rude to the staff" and "argumentative".
"Any view she has on her divorce will be handled discreetly. She does not feel the need to repudiate claims that she may be headstrong or feisty," the rep for Mills told People magazine.
"We have no way of knowing if he filed for divorce."
In Britain, once documents are filed, the quickest a marriage can be dissolved is six weeks. But Mills has no intentions of this occurring, by the fact she will be fighting for her claim of his fortune on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.
"But now with Heather announcing she is prepared to fight, things are just going to get uglier." Stated an unnamed McCartney insider to People magazine.

Lennon held his marriage together? John Lennon's first marriage to Cynthia ended in a divorce in which he abandoned his first child. You need to check your facts.
Let's see. He traded his first love (who he cheated on relentlessly) for a self proclaimed 'artist' with a spoonful of heroin. Then he spent a 'lost weekend' with a much younger woman and threw her away like a used tampon when he decided to go back to Yoko.
Paul, on the other hand, did not marry until he was sure who he wanted to be with and slept with her every night until she passed from this earth.
You do the math.
And P.S. - And Your Bird Can Sing is a John song, not a Paul Song.
She deserves nothing, just spousal support and raise his own daughter. He should of listen when people told him the kind of person she was, even his children. She is a greedy cow, give her support for the length of thre marriage, she does not deserve any more than that.
RE: Paul McCartney and Heather Mills. Oh, yeah, when a man is rude, he is just rude. When a woman is rude, she is fiesty and headstrong. What a joke! I hope she gets kicked in the butt in court, both in the UK and America. What could have Sir Paul been thinking when he could have had any number of 'attractive' women in the world, some with class and temperment, instead he picks Heather. Duh.
Who does she think she is? Most people would give *anything* to be in the same room with him and she doesn't even realize how lucky she is. I don't think she should get one penny. If he wants to support their child, that is admirable, but the money should go to the child...never to her. She didn't help him make his money and she is not entitled to any.
The truly sad part of their marriage breaking up is that the media will publish all the dirty details as if it is anybody elses business. These two people deserve their privacy and the public taking sides is really stupid given the fact that we have no idea why their marriage ended. Let's just hope that all the mud slinging and taking sides doesn't damage the child for life, that would be the ultimate tradegy.
It really is sad that these private details have been made public. However, as usual, Heather`s spokespeople have made things worse for her. 'Fiesty and headstrong' covers 'argumetative' - it does not, however, cover being rude, especially to people employed by you. The suggestions that she is going to counter with claims that Paul was 'mean and boring' are ludicrous too, and just prove that she has no idea what normal life is like.
John held his second marriage together, unfortunately....

It will be interesting to see how the public tries to vilify
a one-legged ex-model who's been labeled 'argumentative'.... I'd
be argumentative too if I had peg-leg and an argumentative parrot on my
shoulder (or is it monkey on my back) screeching, 'And My Bird Will Sing...'
Say what you want about Lennon -- at least he held his marriage together.
