Ricky Gervais: No more funny business

English actor, writer and producer Ricky Gervais has gone on record with the press, stating he wants to get into a meatier project, and away from the status quo which has been comedy to date. The three time BAFTA winner, and two time Emmy nominated Gervais has stated he will quit comedy after the second series of hit HBO and BBC series Extras to concentrate on developing more dramatic scripts.The Berkshire native says "We'd like to do something with more weight, like The Sopranos maybe, not necessarily crime but something meaty. Revenge is the best theme."
