Rule Britannia: Part deux, Hugh Laurie cleans “House”

Oxfordshire native Hugh Laurie has captured big ratings and the hearts of viewers. The North America's Television Critics Association awards in Pasadena, California, voted him the winner in the category of Individual Achievement In Drama. Laurie reportedly re-negotiated his contract for hit Fox drama, House. The British actor cut his teeth and made a name for himself in comedies like Black Adder and Jeeves & Wooster on British TV, has followed in good fashion completely winning American audiences with his portrayal of contentious doctor Gregory House, and according to the trades, he's set to become one of TV's richest stars.According to The Hollywood Reporter, Laurie will get an estimated $300,000 per-episode when the medical drama begins its third season later this year. The re-negotiation also reportedly adds an additional year to the actor's House contract.Laurie also picked up a Golden Globe, Best Actor honor earlier this year for his work on House.
