Colin Farrell gets emergency restraining order
By M&C News Jul 22, 2006, 1:50 GMT
Irish actor Colin Farrell immediately obtained a restraining order on Friday against a Dessarae Bradford, 31, who brazenly walked onto the set of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, confronting Farrell during live taping.
Los Angeles County Superior Court issued the order to keep Bradford away from the actor pending an Aug. 16th hearing before a judge, according to a court clerk.
The "Tonight Show" face-off occurred on Thursday at NBC studios in Burbank. It was not revealed in the broadcast.
"Mr. Farrell had never met or spoken to Ms. Bradford until the incident at 'The Tonight Show,'" said a press statement from Farrell's publicist, Danica Smith.
Her statement also said Bradford "has unsuccessfully pursued two fabricated lawsuits" against Farrell during the past two years.
The courts dismissed both suits.

HUH??
i absolutely agree with mark and have long since felt the 'fans' to be ridiculous. if they were fans they would never treat the celebities in that way. the celebrities have made it clear. the behavior is not appreciated. i think the public should leave the celebrities alone and get on with their own lives.
I love that he took his mother to the premier..
Screw them - they get paid exhorbitant sums of money and other perks - so they should have to endure some hardship besides having to wait for scenes. What are you a publicist?
Its terrible that there are deranged people out there like this woman who are stalking celebrities.
Colin Farrell is a great actor who should be able to make a Tonight Show appearance without a stalker rushing the stage. Where exactly was security???
Now, if Farrell wanted to stalk me that would be OK. LOL
I hope someday he will either do a sequel to A Home at the end of the World or something similiar...
I've always said that it would be great to be rich, but being famous doesn't look so good (once the novelty wears off).
While the situation sounds terrible, so does many situations everyday people face in their jobs. It's an occupational hazard. One which the 'stars' are fully aware of before they embark on their quest for fame and wealth. I can't say I feel sorry for them. They wanted it, they got it.
No one deserves to be stalked. Regardless of past events, real or imagined, celebrities have the right to live as normal a life as possible, as do the rest of us. Do the names Mark David Chapman and John Lennon ring a bell?
You are all idiots to feel sorry for celebrities. It comes with the territory. If they don't like it they can get out of the business! I didn't like being a singer so I quit!
You didn't quit you idiot, you still sing!
You did quit you jerk! You quit our band and now we don't have any fame!!!!!!!!
Backstreet Boys Rule!
Somewhere along the line it's been forgotten that the term 'fan' is short for 'fanatic'. Webster's New World Dictionary describes 'fanatic' as 'unreasonably enthusiastic; overly zealous'; sound familiar?

As much as we may envy them their fame and glamour and all the accoutrements their money can buy, you have to feel a little sorry for celebrities.
No matter how young you are, count back through the news stories you can recall of famous people who have been the targets of people with manic-obsessive fixations.
'What price fame?' is an age old adage. Sad that people can't be famous and admired without having to live in fear of paparazzi car chases and stalkers and 'adoring fans' who will stop at nothing to make even the smallest contact with them.
I don't subscribe to the idea that once someone is famous they have sold their souls to the public and are henceforth considered 'fair game'.
