Do-gooders Bono and Geldof, two like-minded Irishmen
By M&C News Jul 12, 2006, 16:12 GMT
Bono and Sir Bob Geldof are describing their relationship to media sources as a fraternal affair. Like “brothers in arms”, fighting against world indifference to hunger, disease and other social ills.
The two are members of the campaign group Debt, Aid, Trade and Africa, and are working in tandem to keep the collective feet of the world leaders to the fire, in order to boost aid and provide fair trade to poverty-stricken African nations.
"We talk non-stop at each other, pretending we're listening. We then feign agreement on a given strategy, and then go and do different things, under the false impression the other is all for it. As a result we drive each other mad. But it works.
As the showbiz line goes: he's my brother, but he ain't at all heavy. He's great." Said Bob Geldof in a previous interview.
