Patsy Kensit turns the other cheek
By M&C News Jul 12, 2006, 15:23 GMT
London stunner Patsy Kensit, who most Americans remember as “Rika van den Haas”, Mel Gibson’s love interest in Lethal Weapon 2, has gracefully accepted the situation with her ex-husband, rocker Liam Gallagher, citing the lifestyle he led as the catalyst for his indiscretions.
Gallagher, the Oasis rocker, and Kensit were married in 1997, but divorced in 2000 after having a son.
Gallagher reportedly conceived another child with Lisa Moorish of Kill City one week after he and Kensit wed.
"There were certain girls around the band and every time Liam and I had the smallest of rows, it would appear in the paper. The constant negative stuff, it just wore me down, it eroded my self-esteem. And, you know, certain things happened. Liam was young and in the biggest band in the world. There's going to be all kinds of temptation.
"I'm philosophical about that now. It would have been like that with anyone in his situation." Said Kensit in a previous interview.
Kensit has always had a thing for musicians, her marriage time line is a who’s who of great 80’s bands. Her first husband, Donovan, was with the band Big Audio Dynamite, second husband Jim Kerr, was with the band Simple Minds.
Kensit has recently appeared in the UK film, Played, a story about the London underworld. Coincidentally, the legendary east-end gangster, Reggie Kray (of the infamous Kray brothers) is her Godfather according to IMDB.com.
She also has appeared in the UK television series, Holby City.
