I think it's a shame Star treated this way because of Rosi. To be clear I will never ever watch The View again!!!!!!!!!

I am a loyal viwer to the 'View' I even got a Tivo just to tape the View and frankly I am sick to my stomach and turned off by the way Star Jones Reynolds was threated in the end. She is one of the most educated women on the View, she listens attentively and give excellent feedback to guests as well as viewers. I think that the View has done a great disadvantage to TV, ABC and most of all VIEWERS...

I am confident that Star will become a SUPER STAR and will do great in the end. but I am signed off from the VIEW............

I am really disgusted how this entire thing was handled and lost ALL respect for everyone that was involved.

Rosie,,,,, what ever...

Yes, you can contact me

I am so happy to have been part of The View audiance in April this year. Star was wonderful and warm towards us. As for Barbara, she could have smiled at me when I gave her the thumbs up in Bloomingdales in November 2005 insteads of a look of discuss. I should have stopped watching The View then. Star you will do great without a doubt. Toronto, Canada

Joan Rivers knows what it's like to be fired from a television show; it's great to see another celebrity 'side' against Barbara Walters and ABC's spindoctoring to discredit Star because she chose to announce she was not returning instead of allowing them to do it for her.
I think Star has handled herself professionally and with dignity thropughout this entire situation. I don't necessarily like her all that much, but I cannot say that I ever had the visceral, exaggerated disgust that so many seem to have for her now. Star was NOT fired to make way for Rosie's entry; Star said as much on LARRY KING LIVE. Why do so many keep harping on this?

Why are people so mean to someone who has lost weight, had a big wedding celebration or whatever,Star Jones didn't do anything bad to them. Whether she has lost weight, is a lawyer, got freebies, why should this bother people. Those who complain about Star Jones, must have problems with thier own life, they have nothing better to do, they are just jealous. If she says 'I am a lawyer' what's wrong with that, she is a lawyer. Would you be complaining if she said 'I am a janitor' and gives a janitor's expertise in discussing something related to that. In the same way she is giving a lawyers point of view. I am an ordinary person with no job at the moment but I hate people who always complain about someone who is rich, or beautiful, or successful or who speaks their mind. Sometimes to make conversation or make it sound funny, people say things which are true but may sound boastful - can't we all just laugh it off and not start complaining about it. We all laugh at Joy Behar's comments and I know, she is a comedian but can't anyone else be a comedian if its not their profession. Especially those who are rich, doesn't matter how they got rich as long as it was not illegally, why should it bother anyone. Be happy with what you have and don't be jealous of those who have more. I think I have said enough. Good luck Star - you will be better off. Does Barbara Walters ever have an african american fried?

I was a loyal fan of The View. Now, its very boring without Star. For me, my viewing days are over. I honestly, never saw a network professional like Barbara Walters act so unprofessional and arrogant....'we tried to allow Star to leave with dignity'. Doesnt Barbara realize it was uncomfortable for Star to sit at that table for two months knowing she had been fired. We know Barbara would have never done such a thing.

I am also a long time View watcher. Not anymore. I can't stand how Barbara Walters thinks she knows it all. It is her time to go!!! Star did the correct thing and did leave with dignity. I hope that the show doesn't last another season!!!!!

The problem I have with the View, is that they claimed the show was loosing ratings because of star jone's splash wedding a weight loss... That is just absurd, you are telling me that america is this insane? she is a normal like you and I she puts her pants on the same way.... she doesn't have to explain why and how she did anything... if you are so concerned about how she lost her weight it means you don't have a life....

Star will be greatly missed on the View. I feel that she gave the show some 'class' and she was truly geniune in her comments. I appreciate her for keeping it real. Barbara seems to know everything and that was a big turn off for me. Good luck to Star and I don't know what the View will be like with Rosie....and I honestly could care less.

It is very disheartening to see the fiasco that has taken place involving Star Jones, Barbara Walters and ABC. I am especially diasappointed in watching Barbara Walter's two personalities that have been so clearly evident within the past week. To see her give all those accolades to Star, not only on June 27 but to also publically say 'Star had a job with the View as long as she wanted months ago is dishonorable. And then a day later, the claws were out. I grew up watching her as a kid, and seeing her as a trailblazer and respectable jounalist. Few might remember that Star Jones was the most recognizeable face of the View when it first started--hand picked by Ms W. No one in the general public really knew the other 3 ladies. She has definitely contributed to the View's success. Whether you like her or not it is so refreshing to see so many people give refreshing 'viewpoints' on this whole matter--separating personal attacks from the facts of this 'case'. I think Star has shown incredible stamina, professinalism, and dignity over the last two months despite knowing she no longer had her job. Not many people could have withstood the media speculation, tabloid headlines and downright nastiness from Rosie, who conviently left out quite a few secrets on her way up the success ladder. She is such a hypocrite. I didn't plan to watch the show much after Meredith left, but with Star's immediate exit and the dirt slinging from ABC, I know I won't be watching it. Finally, the reasons for canning Star are sooo... bogus. Give the viewers some credit. We can all see that Star had major medical intervention-'surgery', but did she have to spell it out--no. As far as her wedding, I agree with Star--ABC was well aware of her plugging advertisers. After then 7 yrs on the show they could have stopped her if they wanted to. She alone did not contribute to falling ratings--no one woman made the View just as no one person could destroy its appeal. Joy has become increasingly nasty/rude using her comedy as a veil and Elizabeth doesn't represent the average twenty-something--Lisa Ling was the best in that category.

I have read a lot of message boards in the past week on the subject of Star Jones Reynolds. All of the negative, hateful women are truly amazing! No one would not tell someone if they were fired or let go from a job. Star probably felt: 'Oh, excuse me for taking the knife out of my back and telling someone about it.' Give me a break! Miss Ann (Barbara Walters) has the nerve to be offended? We as a people are supposed to be insulted, disrespected, etc. quietly and then tell no one, still to this day! What a double standard!

Plus, who is Rosie to attack Star and also Kirstie Ally about their weight losses? She behaves as though she is God! She is a nobody with a big, hateful mouth trying to be somebody. Star doesn't have to tell people anything if she doesn't want to, especially because Miss Rosie said she should. No one has to disclose private info.

What is really ironic is that it was acceptable for Barbara, Meredith, Joy and Elizabeth to talk about their endorsements and other activities, but not Star? No wonder this country is so messed up. There are millions of hateful, intolerant, hypocritical people who try to destroy other people's characters. Do these women really care about what another person does anyway? It's not as though they can affect the celebrities' lives. Not one of those View women is perfect. However, the Star haters will also be hated because 'What goes around, comes around.' While they are being so negative Star Jones will land on her feet with another job! As a matter of fact she is going to be the host of a show called House Hunters on HGTV for the week of July 10, 2006. Last Friday (6/30/06), Entertainment Tonight announced it at the end of their show.

What is really strikin is that as an astrologer, I recognize Star's Aries Sun Sign. An Aries (the Ram) individual will never slither quietly into the night and will always take charge of his or her own life. This is a fact, no matter how Barbara Walters, Rosie O'Donnell, Brian Fronz, ABC, the media, the public, etc. attempt to discredit the Aries person.

I wasn't a big fan of Star Jones in the past. But she made The View watchable along with Merideth.Star's presence contributed to high ratings. So how could producers blame the sagging ratings on Star's weight loss? It doesn't make sense.
If anything the show's loyal fans likely tuned in more to see the'new'Star Jones.
Well Star left with dignity and class. I liked how she handled herself.
Babs Walters lied to viewers. Telling anyone who would listen
that Star is welcome on The View for as long as she wants.
Yet, she knew well in advance that Star's contract was up in a few months.
Shame on Barbara, that wasn't professional.

BTW-out of curiosity I checked out Rosie O'Donnell's website.
All I got to say is OMG! I hope the Bush Administration is
on high alert come this fall!

Shabby, unprofessional, and petty describes ABC Network, Producers Bill and Barbara Walters behavior in this fiasco! The View had the right (legally) to fire Star, but they should have had the backbone to admit what they did and be able to justify their position. They kept saying they were trying to protect Star. How? By leaking info about the refusal to renew Star's contract while denying that her job was in danger to Star! By coldly offering to bring Rosie on the show not just a a 'co-host' but a 'co-moderater' along with Barbara Walters, after Rosie's hateful, and hypocrital comments about Star? By lieing the real reasons that you fired Starr? Poor ratings due to Star's decision not to reveal every detail about her weight loss (her business) and her promotion of product suppliers for her wedding on The View against your wishes, I don't think so! Who ran the show you or Star? Don't blame your employees if you are incapable of running your business! Star's explanation that you approved anything said on the show about suppliers for her wedding is more creditable that your version of events!

ABC Network, Producers Bill and Barbara Walters look out!!! You've got egg on your faces!!!

Star may be looking for another job now, but with the departure of Meredeth and now Star and the addition of Rosie, the whole bunch of you will be job hunting soon!! What goes around, comes around.

You go girl, Star this is your time! Bigger and better things are coming for you. May God continue to bless you and keep you!!

Boycott of ABCJul 10th, 2006 - 01:05:20

Because of ABC's shabby behavior of Star Jones, I decided to turn my back on channel 7. However, I was reminded that Boston Legal is on channel 7. I can not turn my back on James Spader, William Shatner, Rene Auberjunois(sp), and Candace Bergman. I LOVE THEM ALL. I LOVE THEM ALL. What an outstanding show. I hate you people at ABC. Channel 7 was my channel of choice from 4am. to 10a, then 11a. and primetime shows. Commander in Chief, Evidence, and Boston Legal. Now all I have left is Boston Legal.

Looking at the above I realize I have no life.

Barbara I am so disappointed in you. It is so over you yellow belly snake.

I had a similar situation happen to me at my last job and I did the same thing that Star Jones did. It's called pride. I give Star a lot of credit for staying as long as she did. I packed up my personal belongings that day after everyone had left for the night leaving my keys on the owners desk.

I have heard that Star was not let go because of Rosie but that is a crock. RO probably told BW that she wouldn't work on the same set with SJR. No one will ever convince me that BW & BF didn't think about RO back in November to replace Star even if Meredith were to stay.

When Meredith announced that she was leaving and I heard that RO was coming on The View I emailed BW and told her that this is the beginning of the end of the show. I know I don't want to watch this piglet squeal for an hour with Joy. She'll monopolize the whole show about her causes. SJR will be fine. All I can say is 'stick A Fork In The View, It's Done'
