The “skinny” on Keira Knightley
By Stone Martindale Jul 4, 2006, 21:18 GMT
With a recent swarm of tabloid covers showing just how far some actresses and WAGs can let themselves waste away; Keira Knightley isn’t having any of it.
Knightley recently denied any eating disorder issues, answering several media inquiries about her lithe frame. She’s just small boned with a metabolism on high gear.
Denying that she may have adopted the Hollywood trend to become waif-like, Knightley told reporters at London’s premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, "Whatever people say about my weight they are all wrong."
People magazine reports that in defending her appearance, the 21-year-old said, "Hollywood is all about the way you look, and I don't think that's the healthy thing for anyone. But, if you're strong and comfortable with yourself, then you're going to be fine."
”On Tuesday she addressed the rumors again, saying she was surprised by the suggestion that she had an eating disorder. “The press said to me yesterday 'How does it feel to be called anorexic?' and I had no idea that I was," in the People report.
Knightley also told the Associated Press. "I'm not saying there aren't people in the film industry that suffer from it, because I am sure that there are. But I'm quite sure I don't have it."
The questions about her health came up at the premiere when Knightley showed off her rail thin figure in a low-cut, backless bronze Gucci dress.
Despite a family history, Knightley said "I've got a lot of experience with anorexia – my grandmother and great-grandmother suffered from it, and I had a lot of friends at school who suffered from it…I know it's not something to be taken lightly and I don't."
People magazine reported that Knightley was “adorned in vintage Cartier jewelry,” and very happy to be back home in London.
Pirates star Johnny Depp was donning a fedora and sunglasses to keep the sun off his head in the unusually hot London. He generously stood and signed autographs and greeted fans for more than an hour.

people DO NOT look like that normally even if they are 'small boned'[what is that anyway!!!] anyone who thinks that must have weight issues themselves because they look to these skeletal stars for inspiration. kiera looks anorexic there are no' bones 'about it, talk about 'dead mans chest' she looks like she took the name of the film to mean thats how she should look. If she feels she must look that way she should wear more concealing clothes so that the poor kids out there dont feel they need to starve themselves to look that way. she would certainly look far more attractive with a few curves and some breasts!
Who cares, these people if they want to waste away their lives let them, let them loose their teeth, hair, and have bad skin. Does anybody really care, they all set bad example for the younger kids any way, so why bother! Starve! Starve yourself.
'small boned' means a samll frame
there are 'big boned' or big frame people too-
it is a common expression-hello...
Totally agree with JR(?). I live in Australia which is facing the epedemic of obesity, and an overweight body is seen as the norm. Unfortunately, 'curvy' bodies and large breasts which are the result of being overweight are seen as attractive whereas they are infact unhealthy. Kiera Knightley has a great body, looks beautiful, and is certainly not anorexic. Bitchy people who put down others on the basis of their figure (whether it be thin, slim, fat or obese) are pathetic and it is only a shame they constitute such a large part of the population.
not everyone looks the same and thats that.we shouldnt accuse ppl for have something as serious as an eating disorder if they honestly and truely dont.i know alot of people who have problems with their weight.

I really get a laugh when thse stars are accused of having an eating disorder..I live in Tokyo and everyone here would be seen as 'bulimic' in the USA...the facts are that americans are Obese and the view of what is a healthy weight is so distorted because so many people are overweight..A tiny small boned woman like her should not weigh 140lbs !! people need to just get over it and realize that skinny is not a bad thing ! thats the way people look when they dont consume 4000 calories a day..
