Tom Hanks was inducted into the United States Army's Ranger Hall Of Fame on Thursday for his portrayal of a Ranger in Saving Private Ryan.
The Oscar winning actor was nominated for an Academy Award for his portrayal of Army Ranger company commander John H. Miller in the 1999 World War II movie.
The Fort Benning, Georgia group chose to honor Hanks for his services to World War II veterans, having served as the national spokesman for the World War II Memorial Campaign and as the honorary chairman of the D-Day Museum Capital Campaign.
