Los Angeles - Actors Matt Damon and Jamie Foxx are among the 23 media and entertainment celebrities who will be honoured with their own gold star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame this year.
Damon starred in Good Will Hunting in 1997 and The Talented Mr Ripley in 1999, while Foxx is best known for his portrayal of Ray Charles in the 2004 movie Ray. Foxx won the best actor Oscar for his performance.
Rapper Sean 'P Diddy' Combs, talk show hostess Barbara Walters and singer Mariah Carey were among the others who were named Friday among those to receive a star on the Walk of Fame, an attraction in Hollywood, California. More than 2,200 prominent names are already set in the star-shaped sidewalk stone along Hollywood Boulevard.
Also included on the list are actors Michael Caine, John Goodman, Erik Estrada, Kiefer Sutherland, Jerry Stiller, actresses Michelle Pfeiffer and Lily Tomlin, lyricist Tim Rice, director Robert Altman and Dick Wolf, legendary band The Doors, and country western singers Crystal Gayle, Tim McGraw, LeAnn Rimes and Shania Twain.
Candidates must have at least five years success in show business and a sponsor willing to pay the 15,00 fee for the dedication ceremony. The date of this year's ceremony will be announced later.
