By Stone Martindale Jun 20, 2006, 12:50 GMT
Chef and Entrepeneur Gordon Ramsay, who holds three Michelin stars, was at London's High Court today for the settlement of his libel action over a November 2005 story in the Evening Standard newspaper, according to the BBC News.
"Gordon Ramsay and the makers of Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares have accepted a total of £75,000 damages over a claim that the TV programme faked scenes to make restaurants look like public health hazards."
"I won't let people write anything they want to about me," Ramsay said after the ruling.
Joining American Idol's Simon Cowell as the U.S.'s newest favorite UK whip-cracker, Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay made waves again Friday on the U.S. "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" television show, expletive-deleting his way through a cooking segment with the tall Bostonian O'Brien, who alongside Ramsay, struggled to make tortellini. O'Brien made side comments as he was working, to which the volatile Brit chef shot back, 'You f**ker.' O'Brien replied, "We don't swear in this country; not on TV." O'Brien also retorted by leading his audience in a soccer chant of "USA, USA." having some fun back at Chef Ramsay.
The British cook is the newest star in American reality television, his TV show, "Hell's Kitchen" is popular in the ratings.

Good to see the the Evening Standard being outed as lyers. The people who pay to read it are equally to blame. They wouldn't print it unless they thought that their readership wanted to read such stories.
