Paul McCartney celebrates 'sixty-four' on Father's Day
Jun 18, 2006, 14:03 GMT
London - A month after the break-up of his marriage, Sir Paul McCartney reached his much-anticipated 64th birthday on Sunday.
His estranged wife Heather Mills McCartney, 38, will not be present at the planned celebrations.
The ex-Beatle was said by friends to be 'still very hurt' by the 'dirty hate campaign' being waged in parts of the British media against his ex-wife.
However, the good wishes he received for his birthday were said to be a 'great comfort.'
McCartney recorded the song 'When I'm Sixty-Four' with the Beatles around four decades ago.
The song was said to be written in honour of his father.
His own 64th birthday falls on Father's Day which he plans to spend celebrating with close family and friends.
