Florida, like California, spawns many strange stories in the United States. Alligators that eat people tending their gardens, sharks lurking very close to shore, or actors up in trees.
Then there is a strange tale of celebrity eviction, with impending legislation in the town of Jupiter, Florida, scheduled for actor Burt Reynolds, 70, and his eponymous "Burt Reynolds and Friends Museum".
The memorabilia laden facility is the subject of the Jupiter town council's scrutiny, with town manager Andy Lukasik stating to the media that the Scripps research Center is looking to fill the real estate shoes of the Burt Reynolds Museum, which will bring hundreds of scientists to the immediate area.
The Burt Reynolds Museum provides film classes and seminars. It also contains memorabilia from many of Reynolds past films.
Jupiter may sound like a strange name for a town, but in reality has some of the priciest real estate in the state of Florida, with Jupiter Island being the home to many retired celebrities and CEO's, including Burt Reynolds himself.
According to news reports, "Jupiter pledged $3 million to bring Scripps to its community."
"This decision — and it looks like the town is pretty serious about selling the building — means that we are looking for a home,' museum director Mike Daniel said." According to the Los Angeles Times report.
