Uma Thurman: Don't write me off
Jun 13, 2006, 14:57 GMT
Uma Thurman has begged Hollywood bosses not to write her off - just because she is getting older.
The actress, who turned 36 in April of this year, claims Tinseltown has a bad habit of putting female stars out to pasture as they advance in years.
Thurman, who starred as lethal assassin 'The Bride' in Quentin Tarantino's 'Kill Bill' films, insists she still has a lot to offer and believes actresses get better with age. She told Glamour magazine: 'Theoretically, athletes run more slowly as they get older. But actors get better. They may be less attractive but, professionally, they grow richer and deeper.' Earlier this year, Thurman confessed she wouldn't let her age stop her from dating a younger man. The blonde star - who was previously married to Ethan Hawke - admitted she would be prepared to date a guy in his 20s despite the age gap. She said at the time: 'Why not? To be with a man who hasn't tried every line, who hasn't broken up with a woman every which you can break up with them is kind of nice. It would be nice to meet someone who hasn't done everything, who doesn't feel like they've been to every party and every restaurant.'Copyright 2006 BANG Media International
