Actress and rap star, Queen Latifah, 36, aka Dana Owens, is considering a run for United States political office.
Not just for local councilwoman, but as a Senator according to various media reports, after Latifah made an appearance on Capitol Hill endorsing "National Women's Confidence Day".
She was quoted as saying, "You know, maybe I'll run for Senate." Crediting her own family giving her the confidence to succeed, she expressed her desire to continue helping other women get inspiration and support. Latifah's next role is in the currently filming "Hairspray" film directed by Adam Shankman; she will reprise the Motormouth Maybelle role that was brilliantly played by actress Ruth Brown in John Water's 1988 version of the same title.
