Paris Hilton's parking woes
By April MacIntyre Jun 10, 2006, 12:41 GMT
Paris Hilton's well documented propensity for occupying handicapped spots illegally now has Hilton caught on tape hitting a car with her Range Rover in a Robertson Blvd. parking structure in Los Angeles, then leaving the scene of the accident as cameras captured the entire event.
After loading loot into the trunk of her Range Rover, Hilton said her farewells to her closet clutter-buster and eBay reseller, pal Kimberly Kardashian, who incidentally is also Nick Lachey's new squeeze, and backed out of her parking spot. C-R-A-S-H.
This would make this the second time Paris Hilton has been caught on tape committing an alleged incident involving her auto. According to eye witness reports, in her haste to leave the scene, she also "plowed" through a small group of visiting Japanese girls out on a Beverly Hills shopping excursion. This has not been confirmed or denied.
The event is a misdemeanor under California law, punishable by as much as six months in jail. Her overworked publicist, Elliot Mintz said, "Did she commit a crime? No," This will all remain to be seen. Mintz is seen stoically suffering in the widely publicized tape of Paris and portly billionaire heir Brandon Davis walking into a club –as Davis rabidly dissed Lindsay Lohan - apparently on Hilton's "dead to me" list because of conflicting boyfriend overlaps.
The Beverly Hills triangle of Robertson, Sunset and Doheny is turning out to be Los Angeles's most treacherous commuting. Perhaps warning signs should read, Caution, celebrities cruise here, Paparazzi lurk!
According to TMZ.com, Mintz continued his statement: "She was swarmed by paparazzi," he said. "The intensity of the lights, flashbulbs, momentarily disoriented her. She backed up, there was a minor fender-bender. No injuries. She then told me she notified one of the parking people at the facility how to contact her and asked the person to please pass that along" to the owner of the struck car. Mintz assured the public that Hilton is insured. Good to know.
