Kylie breaks cancer silence
Jun 6, 2006, 2:10 GMT
Kylie Minogue has spoken for the first time about her struggle to beat breast cancer.
The pop singer - who was given the all-clear at the beginning of this year - says it has been a 'long, hard road' since her diagnosis last May.
The courageous singer - who underwent months of gruelling chemotherapy treatment - is now in the studio recording new songs. She said: 'It's been a long, hard road to now but I'm feeling good and I want to get back into the swing of things. 'I'm still taking things slowly, but I've had a great week in the studio and things couldn't be any better.' The diminutive star - who was forced to cancel the remainder of her sell-out tour after falling ill - credits her family with giving her the strength to fight cancer. She told Australia's Sun Herald newspaper: 'I think it comes from my parents. I've got an incredible family and my parents are very happy, their marriage is a great thing to aspire to.' Kylie, 37, revealed she dreams of starting a family with her boyfriend, French actor Olivier Martinez. She said: 'Ollie is lovely. Our relationship has gone well from the beginning. I suppose it helps that he understands my career. 'Yes, I feel broody. It's only natural. It hasn't happened yet, but I hope it will someday.'Copyright 2006 BANG Media International
