Tom Cruise has whipped a US town into a frenzy amid claims he is due to turn up at a shopping centre.
The actor - who has been on whistle stop world tour promoting 'Mission: Impossible III' - is due to touch down at the cinema in the Southshore Mall in Aberdeen, Washington State, for a private screening.
An unnamed fan won the meet-and-greet and blockbuster preview in an online competition. The mall's general manager, Nina Morean, said: 'It's absolutely thrilling. 'It's a wonderful opportunity, not only for the mall, but for our entire community. We're very excited.' She added: 'I'd venture to guess most malls haven't had Tom Cruise visit. 'It'll be a fun opportunity for everybody. It'll be reminiscent, although probably quite a bit larger, of when Metallica came to Aberdeen.' The rockers stopped in town after a fan won an MTV competition in the mid-90s. Meanwhile, Cruise has completed his own impossible mission to attend the New York premiere of 'M:I III' at the Tribeca Film Festival. The star - who is due to marry fiancée and mother of daughter, Suri, Katie Holmes this summer - traversed Manhattan using various modes of transport. His vehicles included a fire engine, a speedboat, a helicopter, sports car and the subway.Copyright 2006 BANG Media International
