George Michael's no-fuss nuptials

George Michael wants a small wedding.

The 'Freedom' singer says the ceremony - legally tying him to long-term partner Kenny Goss - will be an intimate event, unlike that of rival, Sir Elton John.

He said: 'I think we'll just do the formal legal thing and then we'll have a party.

'But no one's going to be getting into a dress! Neither of us has the body for it, you know.'

Rocket Man' singer John married partner David Furnish last December (05) with a brief commitment service which was followed by a lavish $2 million reception.

Former Wham frontman Michael also revealed he is looking forward to having the couple's love officially recognised.

He said: 'It's essential to have the same safeguards that straight couples have. We've been together for 10 years. I think we're entitled to that.'

Meanwhile, the singer has had mixed fortunes recently.

However, he has also been dogged by run-ins with British police.

In February, he was found slumped over the wheel of his car in London and was arrested for drug possession, and in April, he was involved in a car accident involving a number of cars near his home in the exclusive suburb of Hampstead.
