Berry confirms adoption plans

'X Men' star Halle Berry says she will definitely adopt.

The Oscar-winning actress says she is prepared to raise a child even if she cannot conceive naturally.

However, Halle, 39, insists she will not become a mother until she can give the child her full attention.

She revealed: 'I will adopt if it doesn't happen for me naturally.

'I will definitely adopt. And I probably will even if it does happen naturally.'

The decision will see the screen beauty become the latest in a long line of celebrities - including Angelina Jolie and Nicole Kidman - who have chosen to give an orphan a home.

She explained to America's Extra magazine: 'There are too many babies being born.'

Halle has already confessed to US talk show giant Oprah Winfrey that she wants to have a baby by the time she turns 40 - this August (06).

The star said: 'If there's no serious man in my life, whoever I'm dating at the time, I'll say, 'Hey, would you like to have a baby?'

'I've been so desperately unlucky in love and that has thwarted my desire for motherhood. It's so frustrating.

'I really yearn for a child and I can't wait much longer.'

Halle has been married and divorced twice - the first time was to baseball player David Justice, the second time was to actor Eric Benet.
