Jennifer Lopez has complained because people don't take her seriously.

The 'Monster-In-Law' actress - who is married to Latino music star, Marc Anthony - says people misunderstand her because she's always having fun.

She revealed: 'They see me laughing, having a good time, and they may think, 'Oh, she's so ambitious and everything', but the thing is that I'm just a creative person.'

'I think people think I'm driven by the money thing and all that stuff. They get it so mixed up that they forget that I started doing it because I love to perform.'

Lopez claims people misunderstand her husband too.

She said: 'The thing with me and Marc is that whenever the two of us go in a room together, neither one of us could stop laughing. He comes off as a very serious artist because he is.

'But because he's so serious, people don't realize he's one of the funniest people you'll ever meet.'

The 'Out Of Sight' actress has also claimed her failed relationship with 'Pearl Harbour' actor Ben Affleck taught her some valuable life lessons.

J.Lo told America's People magazine: 'That experience made me seek more peace, more truth, more honesty, more goodness in my life. It has made me want more. And if it wasn't for that experience, who knows what I would have done, who I would have been - hopefully still a nice person, but maybe not in as good a place as I am now.'
