Sir Elton John bites back at Michael

Sir Elton John has hit back at George Michael in their war of words - insisting his pride will kill him.
The flamboyant superstar has retaliated against the troubled Wham singer's claim that he was responsible for creating a 'soap opera' atmosphere around his life.
Sir Elton is quoted by the Pinknews website as saying: 'They always know that I will be there to help them. 'Some of them don't want the help, because they haven't reached the point in their life where they're going to ask for it. 'It took me 16 years to ask for help. Pride can kill you.' Elton is said to have been shocked by George's recent accusations, telling a friend: 'Did I crash George's car? Was I found slumped over the wheel in Hyde Park? No!'. The former friends have been feuding since 2004 the 'Rocket Man' singer claimed George - who was found slumped at the wheel of his car earlier this month - was suffering from deep rooted unhappiness in his life.Copyright 2006 BANG Media International
