London - The marriage between US pop icon Madonna and her British filmmaker husband, Guy Ritchie, has been going through a 'bumpy period', Ritchie's father revealed Tuesday.
In an interview with Britain's Closer magazine, John Ritchie said the couple had put their troubles behind them 'for the sake of their children.'
'It's the children that will keep them together. The children are everything to them.'
The couple are currently spending time in Los Angeles with son Rocco, five, and Madonna's daughter Lourdes, nine.
Ritchie explained: 'LA seems to have helped them. It's easier out there because there is less pressure. They seem to have left the bumps they were having over here behind them.'
Madonna and film director Ritchie, who is 10 years her junior, have been dogged in recent months by rumours their marriage is in trouble.
